More than two-dozen volunteers come together to build a county park trail in Santiago Oaks Regional Park

The last ride was such a success that we are doing it again on July 18th Saturday, 2009 starting at Irvine Park in the city of Orange, Orange County.

Come help Santiago Oaks Regional Park staff repair and rebuild the scenic Deer Trail (June 20 & 21), which has been closed since the Windy Ridge Fire in March 2007. Restoration will need many volunteers over four days to perform detailing and grooming after special equipment re-establishes the trail.

If you plan on birding at Peters Canyon Regional Park anytime soon, you must take into account certain dangers of the place. I don’t mean the commonplace dangers - Mountain Lions, rattlesnakes, or poison oak - I’m talking about Blue Grosbeaks. They can be vicious!
